    The Building as Learning Aid (BaLA) concept is a way to improve the quality of education by making school infrastructure more child-friendly and fun. The concept is based on the idea that school architecture can be a resource for teaching and learning. It was originally developed by Vinyas, Centre for Architectural Research & Design, with support from UNICEF. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has adopted the BaLA concept for its schools.
